Open All/Close All

Do you work with groups not affiliated with CSUB?

Yes, we do! We were established to serve on campus and off campus groups looking to develop as a team. Rates do apply differently depending on the group.

What should we wear/bring with us to the event?

Required attire includes closed- toe, closed- heel shoes (i.e. sneakers; NO sandals or Crocs), and ALL jewelry must be removed. Athletic-type wear is recommended—clothing in which you can move comfortably. Remember to dress for the weather because we will be outside for your program. We also recommend that you bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle.

Are there any available housing accommodations on campus?

Yes. CSUB's Student Housing and Residence Life offer a variety of overnight options for groups.

Should I tell my group members we are doing a high ropes course, or will that scare them from attending?

We request you do inform them about the program you booked so they can be both physically and mentally prepared for it. No one is obligated to do the High Courses, but if booked for the group, they will have the opportunity to participate on it as they see fit.

When do I get waivers for your program, and when do you need them?

You will receive a group planning packet once your event details are confirmed and booked, it will be emailed so you can share with all participants. Minors (under 18 years of age) will need a parental/guardian signature as well. We ask that you bring all signed waivers with you to your event, so your facilitators can check them before the event begins.

Is parking free?

Parking is not free and will require a fee depending on the mode of transportation. During the reservation process, we will make sure to go over parking details and determine what the best option is for you and your group.

We are interested in having a meal before/during/after the event, what options are available at your facilities?

Dining is not provided through the Challenge Program, however; a list of authorized vendors will be provided if dining is an option. During the reservation process please notify us you would like to provide a meal for your group for further information.

Can I choose what ground activities my group will do?

As you fill out the Needs Assessment form with specific goals you would like your group to attain, we will make sure to gear any ground activities towards achieving those goals. We want everyone in the group to have a productive and new experience, although we will take past activities or suggested activities into consideration.

What if there is rain in the forecast, or rains while we are there?

Programs go forward in mildly inclement weather, i.e. light rain, light wind, and chilly weather. Extreme heat (95 degrees+), cold, wind and dangerous storm conditions which endanger the safety of the participant may result in the postponement or cancellation of the program.

Is it safe?

Our top priority at the CSUB Challenge Course is participant safety. “Spotting” techniques are used in conjunction with each low element. All aspects of the high course have a primary and secondary safety feature to ensure that everyone is safe.

How far in advance do I need to make reservations?

Reserve ASAP for the best chance of your preferred date!
